Pakistan signed financing agreement with the Kuwait Fund whereby the Fund will provide USD 25 million in FY 2025-26 for the Mohmand Dam Hydropower Project in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (overall financing volume by Kuwait Fund for the Dam is USD 100 million)
The agreement was signed in Kuwait by Ambassador Dr. Zafar Iqbal and KFAED's Acting Director General Mr. Waleed Al-Bahar.

The Mohmand Dam is a landmark national project that will generate 800 MW of clean electricity, provide sustainable water for agriculture and drinking, protect communities from floods, and create thousands of jobs. This initiative demonstrates Pakistan’s commitment to harnessing its natural resources for the prosperity of its people, with valuable support from friendly nations.

This agreement reflects the deep-rooted partnership between Kuwait and Pakistan and highlights Kuwait’s continued support for Pakistan’s development.
